Tutoring Policies

Scope of Tutoring

My tutoring services are focused on helping students understand concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and build effective learning strategies. I do not complete graded assignments, write papers, take exams, or otherwise perform work that should be completed by the student. All tutoring adheres to academic integrity standards.

Session Format

Tutoring sessions are one-on-one and may be conducted online or in person, depending on availability and prior arrangement. Sessions are structured around the student’s current coursework, goals, and areas of difficulty. Students are encouraged to bring relevant materials such as assignments, lecture notes, practice problems, or exams. Sessions are typically 60 or 75 minutes long, scheduled weekly. Shorter sessions are not offered in order to support continuity.

Scheduling

Sessions are scheduled in advance by mutual agreement. Ongoing weekly or recurring sessions can be arranged when appropriate. Availability may vary based on academic calendar and demand.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.

Fees

Tutoring rates vary based on student level and subject matter. Current hourly rates are:

  • Middle school: $140–$160

  • High school: $170–$195

  • College and graduate: $185–$240

Rates and scheduling are confirmed after reviewing goals, coursework, and availability. I prioritize ongoing tutoring relationships over short-term or one-time support.

Payment

Payment is due as agreed upon at the time of scheduling. Rates may vary depending on student level and subject matter. Specific payment details are provided during the onboarding process.

Preparation and Expectations

Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared to engage actively in the session. Progress depends on participation, follow-through between sessions, and consistent effort. Tutoring is collaborative, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Communication

Tutoring-related communication should be limited to scheduling, logistics, and brief clarifying questions. Extensive instructional support occurs during scheduled sessions.

Academic Integrity

Tutoring is intended to support learning, not replace it. I reserve the right to decline or discontinue tutoring if requests conflict with academic honesty policies or ethical standards.

Right to Discontinue

Either party may discontinue tutoring at any time. I reserve the right to end tutoring services if expectations are repeatedly unmet or if the tutoring relationship is no longer productive.
